[NL ] Een kruk die de lichaamshouding in balans brengt. Het object is gebaseerd op de beweging van de ruggenwervel zodat de gebruiker het lichaam onbewust in beweging houdt. Door te blijven bewegen corrigeert de kruk voortdurend de lichaamshouding en blijven de rugspieren soepel. De drie blokken zijn een abstractie van een ruggenwervel gemaakt van onbehandeld massief Tulpenhout.

De kruk wordt ook gebruikt voor meditatie, zoekend naar de juiste houding om te zitten in stilte. Om het lichaam te laten overgaan in een staat van volledige concentratie.

[ ENG ] A stool that balances the position of the body. The object is based on the movement of the spine so that the user subconsciously keeps the body moving. By the ongoing movement the stool corrects the posture of the body and keeps the back muscles flexible. The three blocks are an abstraction of a vertebrae and are made of untreated solid yellow popular wood.

[EN] The low dresser, a subdued cabinet in which subtle interventions of form characterize the object. The tapered legs interrupt the straight line on the front and the milled grip on the edge of the door and black mdf top on the topside. The dresser is constructed from a black mdf body and combined with solid wood doors and legs. In the solid wood panels (doors and side panels) a classic dovetail connection is included to counter warping of the wood.

[NL ] In de Japanse cultuur is het gebruik van Washi (papier) een eeuwenoud begrip. De bijzondere kwaliteit van het materiaal is dat het de trilling in licht verminderd en daarmee de ook de beweging van het oog. Vanwege de zachte rustgevende uitstraling van het licht beschrijven de Japanners het gebruik van Washi als “de Maan in het huis”

De gefaceteerde vorm is afgeleid van de eerste traditionele hexagonale Japanse Lantaarns.

[ ENG ] In the Japanese culture the use of Washi (paper) is a century old concept. The extraordinary quality of the material is that it reduces the vibration of light and simultaneously the movement of the eye. Due to the soft and comforting appearance of the light the Japanese describe the use of Washi as “the Moon in the house”.

 De facetted shape is derived from the first traditional hexagonal Japanese Lantern’s.

[EN] Assigned by Oillily, Studio Harm Rensink was asked to design the Stand for the launch of the Womens Clothing Line at the Bread & Butter fair 2013 in Berlin (Germany). In close collaboration I have taken care of the technical aspects and production of the project.

Het gedocumenteerde proces van 21 dagen resulteerde in een object waarbij de functie verscholen ligt in tactiliteit.

[ENG]  My work marks itself mostly by the geometrical approach, just there arose the desire to fully let go of this. It resulted in a form research in which I wanted to discover the material in a plastic manner. “As if the beam is drawn apart” instead of its usual constructive function.

 The documented process of 21 days resulted in an object in which its function is disguised in tactility.
